4 Tips for Crushing Your Week

It's that time of year again! We're about to take time off, celebrate the holidays, ring in an exciting new year with new goals and resolutions. While we're excited for the much-needed break to spend time with loved ones and adventure to different places, we're feeling the pressure and stress rain on our parade. It's the last week (aka crunch time) before a lot of businesses shut down between Christmas and New Year's Day and our to-do lists may seem a bit overwhelming. Well, you're not alone and we're here to tell you that you've got this.

Time to be the boss that you are. Here are four tips to get you to Friday and to feeling like you crushed this week.

1. To-do list

Huge fangirl of lists over here. Make a list of all the things you need to accomplish this week and before the end of the year. Yes, you'll dread this task, but you'll feel so much better putting it all out on the table. Right now it's most likely a jumbled mess in your brain weighing you down. If it stays that jumbled mess, the stress will keep distracting you from positively crushing through your week and to-do tasks.

2. Set priorities

This may seem like a no-brainer, but actually go through the motions in doing this. Remember that to-do list you dreaded doing in that first step? Start actually numbering and prioritizing on that list. You may have this done in your head, but along with the numerous other things I'm sure you have going on with the holidays taking over in t-minus 7 days, it will feel much better (and organized) to write it down.

3. Time Block

The lists are done and now it's time to go into boss mode by chipping away at that to-do list one by one. Block off scheduled time in your calendar or set alarms on your phone to section off parts of your day. Devote time increments to working on specific projects and tasks based on your list of priorities. If you hit a mental block while working on a task, take a break and switch it up with the next prioritized task on your list or check something off a personal to-do list or even take a 5 - 10 minute break in our Wellness Room to calm and collect yourself. Maybe even go on a walk or head to the studio for a fitness class. You may not think you have time for that, but working out or doing some sort of physical activity really will help you de-stress–even if it's only for 10 minutes. Time blocking FTW (and a serious lifesaver)!

4. Environment

Set yourself up for success. Head into this week with a positive, confident attitude while also creating an environment that's going to encourage that attitude. Do you need some Bey in the background singing, "Who run the world?" to get you feeling inspired? Then take 10 minutes to create a playlist of your week's theme songs and play them on repeat. Do you need silence to be head down crushing work? Find a quiet corner, lounge or rent out one of our conference rooms for a few hours. Set yourself up for success emotionally and physically.

Follow these steps and we're confident you'll start crushing through that to-do list in no time. By Friday, you'll be ready to celebrate the holidays in your favorite way while also feeling ready to conquer a new year. Remember, you got this.
