Opening Our Doors and Building a National Coalition
Hearing the news about the more than 2,000 children separated from their families at the U.S. border has been heartbreaking. All of us at The Riveter have been trying to find ways to help, from volunteering to organize the #MarchforFamilies rallies in LA and Seattle to donating kids items to local organizations. But, we wanted to do more - we wanted the impact to bigger, and we knew that we couldn't do it alone.
This is why powerful networks of women in business and life are priceless. We can do more together and help more families. With a few phone calls, All Doors Open was born.
Sixteen female owned coworking spaces across the country are opening their doors to assist with efforts to reunite families separated at the United States border. Our space is your space. Our resources are your resources.
Specifically, we will:
Serve as collection points for goods (clothes, toiletries, toys) for immigrant children in need
Provide space for organizers of reunification efforts
Designate "phone bank times" for anyone who wants to phone bank in groups to contact their elected representatives or organize action
Visit MakeAllDoorsOpen.com and find a workspace in your city to get involved.
