Friday Feature: Lisa Levine

This week's Friday Feature goes out to one of our amazing members! Meet, Lisa Levine. You can find her primarily at our Capitol Hill space and sometimes in our Fremont space as well. Keep an eye out for her Live | Learn events with us!

Lisa has been part of our Riveter community since the beginning when we first opened our Capitol Hill location. We were lucky to first meet Lisa when she scheduled a hard hats tour after finding out about us via social media. "It was love at first sight." (For the both of us!) We took some time to chat with Lisa about Audacious Health & Wellness and her experience at The Riveter.

What are a few of your favorite things about The Riveter?

The staff (and no, I’m not sucking up right now. You guys are awesome!), my fellow Riveters, the actual spaces - both Capitol Hill AND Fremont, the meditation room and that big jar of Theo Chocolate. ;)

Tell us about yourself! Include 3 fun facts.
I’m married and have two teenagers that are awesome. I am originally from The East Coast (Philly and NYC), did a stint in LA and have been in Seattle for over 20 years. I used to work in the music business as an Executive Producer of music videos. I met my husband backstage at a Pearl Jam show in Hawaii.

Tell us what you do!
I am a wellness coach and I help women eat better, think better and feel better. I work with women (and some ed as well!) in all areas of their lives where they feel stuck or stagnant and help them get moving again.

What is Audacious Health & Wellness? How can members get involved (any events)?
I do 1:1 coaching as well as some group classes and retreats. The best way to get involved is to join my list so you can stay informed about all upcoming events.

Tell us the Audacious Health & Wellness founding story.
When you work in personal development you are always paying extra attention to the things that make you light up inside. For me those things usually revolved around food, nutrition, cooking and health & wellness. One day I had the realization that I could bring all that into my coaching practice and work with people in more of a ‘body, mind & spirit’ way. That’s when I went to nutrition school and thus was born Audacious Health & Wellness. I named it Audacious because sometimes stepping into your light - whatever that may be for you - can feel a little audacious. When we follow our ‘audacious' it will take us on all kinds of adventures!

What is your advice to young women professionals / entrepreneurs.
Stay positive, speak kindly to yourselves and practice good self-care. It’s so important!

What's your perspective on success / failure?
That it’s all part of the dance. Both things happen to all of us at various times in our lives. Even with the “failures” I try and remember the mantra of “this is not happening to me it’s happening for me - even if I don’t know why yet.”

What is the best piece of advice you've ever been given?
Best piece: Pick your battles.

What is your proudest accomplishment?
I know it’s cliché, but my proudest accomplishment is raising my kids into reasonably well-adjusted, kind & happy humans who get along with us (my husband and me) and with each other.

What’s rocking your world this month?
Getting ready for Thanksgiving with all the magazines out there. I think of it as food porn...

How do you relax after a week of work?
Cooking, movies, farmers market and my favorite guilty pleasure, “Outlander." (I know, I know. I can’t help it…)
